So far this year we have been building up our basic computing skills and working towards Digital Leader badges for mastering computing skills.
As part of this we have created and taught Computing lessons to our Foundation children. We have helped out in the Computing lessons in Year 1 on a weekly basis. We have been to the Barney and Echo Internet Safety Roadshow in Bradford and learnt lots about Internet Safety. We have organised a fundraising Film Night to raise funds for a set of Raspberry Pi's to help develop our Programming skills.
We are currently working on an amazing assembly about internet safety for Internet Safety Week which we are going to deliver to the whole school to help teach them about cyber bullying, having respect online and how to keep your personal details private online.
We are learning how to use the new website and Twitter so that we can become experts, so we can help parents and teachers use these resources in mini workshops.
We are preparing to hold our own #Kidsmeet in March, this is where other Digital Leaders from local primary schools are going to come to Methley for the day. During the day we will all present a skill / piece of technology that we are experts at using to the other schools. We will then hold mini workshops so that each of the schools can trial all of the different pieces of technology and review them; to see if we think it is something which would improve our development in Computing at school.
